Book addictions are nothing to be taken lightly. My bank account is seriously showing the strain. But. I can't stop. I have bought...12 books in the past 2 weeks. And I keep browsing Amazon and GoHastings for deals!!
AND on top of that, I already have a "small"(by comparison) stack of books to read! Is there a pill? 12 step program? Support group?
SO I JUST found out that Kim Harrison's next book in The Hollow's series came out TUESDAY! How can I stop buying books now!? They don't want me to get better...
HERE is a hilarious query critique from the Evil Editor. So...so many snickers.
Happy Wednesday!
That Evil Editor critique was too funny ("serves him right for having his head in her lap")!
ReplyDeleteWhen you find BA, I'd like to join with you! I blame my Kindle...the 24/7 connection to Amazon has me buying books like they're going out of style. And, it's only going to get worse...there are so many good releases coming in March (not that I'm trying to tempt you ;-))!
ReplyDeleteI giggled so hard at that Evil Editor critique. Everyone is staring, but I don't care. Just. Too. Funny.
ReplyDeleteNow I don't feel so bad about my book addiction. I received two more in the mail yesterday, and I've still got 10 others I haven't read yet. PLUS I still want to reread a bunch more books I own.
ReplyDeleteI definitely need to join BA! But there are so many good books out these days...sigh.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to your blog? It's all ... different. Looks good though. You can always count on WV for a few laughs.
ReplyDeleteLove the word game you've created here. So fun!
ReplyDeleteOh man, you do need a 12 step program! Is there a Borders near you? Did you get in on any of the liquidation sales? Ours is closing but I was gone for the sales. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteHey, libraries are still in fashion, I think. And free, last time I "checked" it out. Awesome word game you have going here!
ReplyDeleteLove the word games! And that query was ... er, um ... it was really something!! :)
ReplyDeleteI just pictured a nocklas, lololol.
ReplyDeleteWord Verif Wednesday is fun!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya about the straining bank account. I bought 9 books in two days! (Thanks to a Borders near me that's liquidating.) Spending all my money on books is totally worth it. :) Until the next time I'm hungry and have no food... hmmm. Nah, books still rule!
We totally posted about the same thing. Bookaholics united. I didn't even mention the 18 books sitting in my secret bookshelf that I haven't read yet. Maybe I do have a problem.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Bookaholic too. I think I spend more on books than anything else (well, except food).
ReplyDeleteThank you for popping by my blog today. I will posting a follow up to the comment question tomorrow!
I need to join BA, too. I have close to 40 books in my TBR pile, and I just bought another one yesterday. Not to mention the two I got last week.
ReplyDeleteThose were good today!
ReplyDeleteDid you know that the month of March is: Read and e-book month?

Keep those words coming! As for books...I'm a libray girl.
ReplyDeleteI love books too, Colene, I just decided a while back I don't have room for them. I live in a condo with limited space. My small walk in has ten shelves loaded with books. I just half of them and put them in storage. I left my favorites.
ReplyDeleteAs always I love word verification Wednesday.
Michael
LOVE Word Verification Wednesdays! :-) And I can never get enough books. Buying books, checking them out. Total Book-a-holic. At least it's a healthy obsession, right? It's okay to get behind the wheel of a car with a six pack of books next to you. You can even have one open and you won't get in trouble. But I don't recommend reading WHILE driving. That will get you in deep every time!
ReplyDeleteAhh, my word verification fix is sated. Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteI love buying books too. Nothing like a crisp, unopened book with no creases and a perfect glossy cover... I've been doing pretty good lately though. I bought 3 books about a month ago and have read the first 2. Once I finish the third, I can "allow" myself to buy another book. I'll try to hold off as long as I can, but the temptation to purchase more is strong... :)
I love word verification days! So funny!!
ReplyDeleteOMG. That critique is HILARIOUS! Thanks for sharing!!!
Also.. I am addicted to books too. Let's be addicted together!
These word verification posts are awesome. I'm reading book one in the Hollows series right now. Love it!
ReplyDeleteNocklas, teeheehee. I want one! Ah, you know...i just bought six books on amazon today...if you find a good program, please share!! :)
ReplyDeleteI hear you! I have the same problem... One word: LIBRARY. Saved my bank account. But didn't help the addiction.
ReplyDeleteI have given myself ban times for buying books before, I'm yet to make it without falling off the wagon. I think there is no cure.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely hilarious! I'm fretting that I have a pile of books I want to buy let alone the ones I've got beside my bed to get through! :O)
ReplyDeleteI have the same book addiction. I like to think of buying books as helping my education as a writer. The happiness from reading is just a welcome side effect. :)
ReplyDeleteApparently not enough people are Irish to know that last one is quite the sport! Though I prefer to play Nocklad, myself.
ReplyDeleteConsider yourself re-tweeted!
teehee--the book addiction will remain, but if you decide to have children you can't affort (or do as I do, and MARRY a child you can't afford then have more children) you may become a library junkie. LOVE your word defs!
ReplyDeleteWhen I discovered that our dollar store got leftover books, I nearly died. I love spending 10$ and coming home with a big ol' stack!
ReplyDeleteYou know these are like my favorite known posts!! Such creative genes to produce something so snarky and cute! Loved it!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Colene, as always you leave me chuckling!
OK, I really liked elorox. And "little known girl-pushing sport"... *snort*!
ReplyDeleteI went on a book-buying binge last fall.. Gah! It does wreak havoc. You know, those are tax deductible if you're a writer, right? It's called Research. :D <3
Dude, I feel you on the whole book buying thing. It's a sickness that needs a cure.
ReplyDeleteThose were funny.
ReplyDeleteI can't stop buying books either. I'll join too.
Try the library! Though I know it's so fun to hold a shiny new book with shiny new book smell. I had some Borders bucks so I just ordered my first Kim Harrison book. Stoked! Oh, and that EE thing was freaking hilarious (that's what he gets for having his head in her lap in the first place - hehe)!
ReplyDeleteokay so we need to start Bookaholics Anonymous or something. I know exactly how you feel. Our tiny home office is overflowing with books already and the pile just keeps growing I don't know where to put the rest of the books I know I'll still buy. Sadly, I don't think there is any cure. Once a bibliophile, always a bibliophile.
