Now, it's back to work, back to regular blogging schedule, and back to regular routine of life. Ho. Hum.

HERE is the funniest blog I have ever seen in my whole life. Never a dull story or how to or advice on there. AND complete with cartoons to heighten the reading adventure! That link will actually take you to one post, The Awkward Situation Survival Guide. But you can check out all the other posts easily. (with over 40,000 followers, you know it's a goody)

Did anyone else miss THIS awesome query on Query Shark???? AWESOME!

What did you all do/watch/see/make progress on while I was away?  Did you have a good holiday?

  1. Wow! You had a busy holiday season. Mine was pretty laid back and uneventful... just the way I like it. :)

  2. This is me acting thrilled... Heh, I guess it doesn't come off so well across the wild waves of internet. ;o)

Sounds like you had an awesome holiday season. I just laid around being lazy and not writing. I did read some awesome books, but mostly watched television and waited for my brain to turn to gelatin.

  5. I finished the first draft of my new wip. Tweaked the first chapter and query of the book I'm now querying (as of next week). And I watching the Narnia movie. I've seen Easy A. Loved it so much, I asked my husband for the DVD for Xmas (and heavily hinted to my kids that I wanted it, too). :D

  8. OMG, I saw that query a few days ago. LOVED IT. At the same time, it just goes to show you that all those rules mean nothing. That query definitely makes me want the book, but I don't really think it's a query ... it's more of a, well, I don't know what ... just not a query.

  9. What a great holiday! I have to get Netflix now :) So many shows to watch!

  10. I just read that query... I'm speechless. Thanks for pointing out. Goes to show you anything can work if it's done right.

Glad you had a great holiday.

I am down to the last 20,000 on my WIP. Two weeks... done or undone. I pick Done. It's my entry for ABNA contest.

    Happy New Year Colene...

  11. That query seriously gives me the chills. I hope it gets published someday because I want to read that book!

I watched Firefly earlier this month and OMG, it's one of the best series ever! I can't believe it got cancelled. Thank you Netflix, for keeping it alive!

  12. We travelled a lot going to see family, weddings and friends, so it wasn't too relaxing, but I did watch Salt, and Knight and Day (second one I wouldn't recommend)

As soon as you mentined a query on query shark I knew which one. It was completely awesome, hopefully it's a good book.

  13. Great holiday, sounds like you had fun too. Also, Firefly is so EPIC! I <3 Kaylee, lol. And Repo? Why? I heard such bad things about it. Might have to check it out for myself though. :) Did you enjoy it?

Melissa, GET IT! Netflix is AWESOME! (and affordable)

Gideon! Good luck!! You can so do it!

melissa, I know, right!? I want that book!! And Firefly, I was soooo upset to find out it was only one season! Who wasn't watching this that let it die!? Oh...wait...me. hahaha.

OH! Kindros! I loved Repo! But those kinds of movies are right up my alley. Why not try out some of the clips they have on youtube and see if it's something you would like to watch. I loved it though.

I love Kaylee too! And Wash! Wash was probably my favorite though.

  18. I got Netflix a month ago and I'm wondering how I ever lived without it, lol!

I watched When In Rome, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Serenity, Easy A, and The Expendables. Waiting for Love, Actually to get here from Netflix (so many bloggers have written about how great this one is so I can't wait to watch it).

  19. Thanks for posting that query. Somehow I missed the query shark's post and I'm glad I got caught up! It is really awesome! Yeah, the part in Julie & Julia when all of the agents starting calling seriously made me gag.

  22. Loved Toy Story 3. Heard Fantabulous Awesomely amazing things about Easy A and it was just...good. And Julie and Julia was okay. Maybe the book was better?

  23. I LOVE Netflix!! (I have Blockbuster mailed, too....and I just got DVR - yeah, I watch too much on my tv...) Off to read the blog and a great query letter is always good to see! Thanks for the links ~ :)

  24. What a broad range of movies. I just watched 'The Ugly Truth' this week and thought the dance scene was pretty hot - that guy knows how to cast a look ;-j
Love the comic link - thanks!

  25. You sound busy! I need to watch Toy Story 3 (it's on my Netflix list), and Julie and Julia was pretty fun. Oh my gosh, I know, FIREFLY was only 1 season, and there were apparently a lot of heartbroken fans when they canceled after that. I thought it was GREAT. There's the movie version of it called Serenity, if you haven't watched it; it's good. Though beware, don't expect a 100% happy ending.

  26. Two cameras! I'm jealous. Great choice to get a Wii.

  31. I had a great holiday. Thanks for asking. Took time off from blogging and getting back into the swing of things. Okay, I'm off to check out the link for funniest blog ever. I'm laughing already. Hope its not compromising pictures of me. I'll just blame it on the eggnog.

  32. Sometimes a small Christmas is the BEST Christmas. :-) Glad you enjoyed yourself. TWO books edited? Holy smoke! You rock, woman.

  35. I can't tell you how much I still miss Firefly. (I love me some Nathan Fillion)

And, yeah, hyperbole and a half has been one of my favorite sites for a long time...she's hilarious.

I will have to go check out the query, as I haven't been on there in a long time.(thus I'm sure I missed it)

Sounds like a lovely holiday season. I'm with Jennie, sometimes small Christmases are the best. (Less stress, more relaxing=better xmas)

  36. Happy New Year Colene! You sound like you had a very busy and fun holiday!

I had the flu, and didn't do a thing... but I guess I finally did catch up on sleep ;)

  37. OMG LOVE Hyberbole and a Half... can't remember if I've talked about it on my blog before (so you can tell me to be quiet if I'm repeating myself). Her stuff has had me uncontrollably laughing with tears pouring down my face more than once. Freaking love the one where she eats the cake. And the one about moving with her dogs.

Love that Query Shark, too! "There's nothing like revenge for New Year's" - gotta love Janet!
