It's MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY!

Ack. It didn't work. Was hoping if I was upbeat enough about the start of a new week I could trick myself into being excited. Nope. Not really. End of the week is always more fun.

Went on a mom/daughter date to see One For The Money. It was pretty good. My mom and I had a hard time getting past the fact that the "Ranger" they chose wasn't quite the hot hunk of man meat we were hoping for. He just wasn't the Ranger we knew. And Ramirez's part wasn't done well enough. But other than that it was satisfying!

My mom nagged me forever when I was a kid to read these books and only last year did I start. I'm still not very far in relation to how many there are, but they are the only books I've seriously LOL'ed at. So this movie was exciting to me (Anyone else wonder why it took so long to make?) and to see it with the original book-reading nag, even better. (My mom rocks. She knows I mean "nag" in the best possible way...).

Also this weekend, getting serious about planning this years Girl Trip with my most fabulous friends I've hung on to since high school. Every year we have a Girl Trip (usually to the beach). It's always been eagerly anticipated. Ever notice how nice life goes along when you have a yearly vacation to look forward to? If you don't, then you should get one, because it really does a world of good, no matter what's going on in life. And my girlfriends seriously kick ass. I love them dearly and only get to see them a couple times a year, so I'm stupid excited.

Crit meeting this weekend was very eye-opening to the old MS. I hate when I don't write things just because I forget my reader isn't in my head. Derp. It would be a lot easier if you all would just climb in, okay? Then I wouldn't have to go back and explain things better.

Lastly, the ladies at work and I do a BodyRock exercise 3x a week together and last Thursday we really killed it. I was so sore Friday I was doing a burpee and my legs just collapsed under me. Luckily no one was home for that. But I was so happy. Haven't been sore like that in forever. I know it isn't true, but I always FEEL more productive, workout-wise, if I end up sore. So that was nice. Gotta kick it up EVERY workout from now on, though. Gotta be smokin' for that bikini come Girl Trip time. (make no mistake, no matter how much you love a girl friend, there's always a little piece of you that needs to look hot next to your hot friend. And if you ARE the hot friend, you will always have those friends like me that hate you.;)In the best way possible, of course)

Did you all have a nice weekend? Hope so!

Happy Monday! See you cats around.

  1. Happy Monday! Sounds like you had an awesome weekend - even with the crit session. Have you guys ever done Vegas for your girl trip? Throw on your bikinis, grab some margaritas and hang out by the pool all day. =o)

  2. Monday, Monday.... yeah I'm not feeling too into it either. LOL. Too much to do!! I so know what you mean about not writing everything in your head. Sometimes I forget what I've said/haven't said and things get left out. Oops :)
A girl trip sounds fun!! Jealous!

  4. No pain, no gain - right. I've checked out the body rock stuff. Haven't tried it yet though. I'm too afraid of hurting myself.

  5. Life has a habit of re-routing one's intentions. Mine was disrupted by the disappearnce of beloved cat, but happily he came home safe and sound after a night away from home. Sounds like you've been busy having fun.

  7. Quiet week-end here. Getting back into a routine that got away from me for the last couple of weeks. And I'm with Alex...what's a burpee?

  8. omg! What's a "burpee"??? I saw that on a fitness regimen, and I was all, "wha???" Is that when you drank your water too fast in the middle of exercising? :D

Sounds like a fun weekend. I need to pick up that Evanovich book. We're hittin the beach end of March. Gotta get exercising my own self~ :o) <3

  10. Oh yay, girl trip! Can't believe that's coming up again! Where does the time go? Ah, wish I could get into that 'ol head of yours. See what's hiding behind those cobwebs ;p Good job on the workouts even if your legs did collapse ;p And yeah, I'm jumping on the bandwagon- what's a burpee?

  11. I tried to have a great Monday too! Woke up said, "Hooray, for Monday", then everything went to heck.

  12. See, and here I thought a burpee was like a knock-off drugstore version of a slurpee" and you just sort of fell when you were drinking. Which -- mean as it is of me to admit -- was a darn funny visual. :o)

I seriously need a Girls' Trip!

  16. Time flies when you've got a vacation coming up! I've always wanted to to a girls trip like that with my peeps. Might be time to revisit the idea with them. I haven't gotten into those Evanovich books, but I've heard great things about them. I'm glad you liked the movie, because I hadn't heard great things. I'll drop it back on the "to see" list.

  18. Sounds like you had a good time last weekend!

I wish readers could just see everything that was in the writer's head, too. That's what they need to invent after ebooks: automatic download of the story from the author's perspective.

I'm wondering, too--what's a burpee? (I'm a little afraid to Google it. LOL.)

  19. A yearly vacation sounds fabulous. Congrats on all your hard work! It's such a good feeling to get fit. And I know what you mean about feeling sore.

  20. LOL I played tennis this week a lot longer than usual and my body was screaming. But hey - it's worth it, right?

  21. No pain, no gain. Right? Or at least enough pain to make you glad when it hurts but doesn't incapacitate you. I had a friend who did one of Jillian Michaels' butt and thigh routines with her daughter. She said she hurt so bad the next two days that it hurt without moving.

  22. I love when you work out so hard that you feel it the next day. I miss that. I can't wait to be doing hard workouts again. I'm getting close. Those workouts you do look killer! I may have to try them once my stamina is back up again!
