How about a game

Firstly, If you have/haven't noticed, I changed my domain name. It was because of info someone posted about being a professional, having a pro. domain, so forth and so on. I figured, if I was going to change it, now was better than later. I'm so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause! Hopefully not a lot. And it wont change again promise!***Changed back because no one could find me! It was such a hassle, I'm leaving it. So sorry. This is ridiculous! Nothing has changed!

Secondly, Erica And Christy, one of my new favorite haunts, awarded me The Versatile Blogger award!! Whooo!!! Gosh. I love awards. They never DON'T make me feel all warm and fuzzy. So Thank You Erica and Christy!!! You guys ROCK! I have already paid dues to this award so no factoids but it's one of my favorites so I had to mention it!

You dudes definitely need to check them out, especially this month for their 25 days of best and worst things about being an aspiring novelist. It has been BRILLIANT so far. And they are down to 22 so hurry up before you miss it!

So, here is the game for this Monday. I give you random discussion points(+either my opinion or the reason behind the question so you don't think I'm completely insane.), you can pick one and give me your opinion! Topics will get increasingly more difficult to discuss. Ready?

We'll start with an easy one.

Beastly Trailer finally! Yeay!
Have you read the novel? Plan to? Gonna see it? I hope to read it before the movie comes out. Looks so darn cute. And I LOVE Beauty and the Beast.

Guys, I think Angelina Jolie is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. (Chelsea Handler called her the "C" word in some stand up thingy!! Booooo! Unclassy. Judgmental. And just plain rude!) Johnny Depp is my man choice. Who would you say is your choice for most beautiful person?

HERE you'll see that, while not the number 1 names anymore, 2 characters from Twilight are STILL in the top....2 names of 2010. For or against trendy fictional character names for your children? AAAAAND discuss.

Last topic, the hubs and I were watching Most Evil, which is a show on the Discovery Channel (if you don't know) about horrible murderers and where they rank on a scientific scale  of 1-22 created by Dr. Michael Stone. The scale is used in gauging how evil a person is based on their childhood, background, mental state, crimes they committed, reasons behind the crime, etc.

The thing that made me curious is,  if one person had come to this person's aid in their life, would they have done the things they did? Most of these criminals had traumatizing childhoods, crazed parents, or some other factor that changed their perspective of life. Could more than one person be saved by just one someone reaching out to an obviously hurting human? Most all these people showed obvious signs that they were troubled, disturbed, dangerous, depressed, and in a dark place. If someone has gotten the children help, if parents had cared more, if anyone had done SOMETHING to help them, would it have made a difference?

There is also a brain scan study that shows that tons of real, live psychopaths are just wired differently. So, could they really be helped?

On to making it writing related, how are your villains shaped? If someone had reached out to them, would they still be villains? Did their past create them? Or are they just that way?

Pick your topic, my friends. I'm happy to hear anything you have to say on any subject!

HERE are lessons learned after 2 years of blogging from Joanna Penn of thecreativepenn.com

  3. Did you notice that one of the trees in your background has on a dress? LOL

    Love the reindeer.

My villain may have been saved, but it is a toss up since his ability drives people insane, literally. It must affect him too.

  7. LOVE Angie- and I love her and Brad together. She's such an awesome person (and actor). I love all the charity work she does, and she seems really genuine.

I think with the evil thing, a lot has to do with their parents, but I also think there is some kind of trigger that environment sets off, you know? Good question though- I think my villain is evil because he's hungry for power- the possiblity of being the most powerful person overtook him. Plus ofcourse he's been rejected by the woman he loved (kinda like Snap and lily...except Snape was good)..

  8. Congrats on your award! I think Angelina is beautiful too, but it's in a sort of untouchable way. That cartoon is hilarious!

  9. I've read Beastly, but not sure if I'll see the movie.

  14. I read Beastly, it was a light and enjoyable read. I'm stoked on the movie!

Sounds like an interesting show! My villain never had anything horrible happen to him. There was no inciting event or anything. He was just charismatic and started noticing faults in the society he lived in. He started convincing people to join him in rectifying these things. Things started getting out of hand and he started making really bad choices, and... things kept spiralling. I won't give anymore away!

  15. Congrats on your award. I tend to think that while some of it is society's influence, a greater part of it is genetics. Those scans are intriguing!

Commiserations about your blog change. I'm planning a post on it soon, I changed my URL in September and had all sorts of troubles. I might be able to give you some pointers if you want to give it another go, just shoot me an email :)

    Hugs,

  16. Trailer DOES look good (though the kind of thing I like to watch, not read--I have low tolerance for romance as the main story).

Johnny is right up there for me, too. I think Angelina is beautiful, though if I were choosing the actress I find most beautiful, I'd probably go with Charlize Theron... and I'd put a couple models above any of the actresses (Adriana Lima, for instance)
On names... always try NOT to hit a trend (says the woman whose son was one of four Sams in his home room last year)

And Psychology being my degree(s), I could probably write a BLOG POST on this last... in fact I think maybe I will... so thank you for the idea! HA! (for tomorrow--today I'm discussing blankets of doom *shifty*)

  17. I can't wait for Beastly! I was so sad they delayed it a few months ago, but hopefully it will come out in March now. That movie is just right up my alley :)

  18. Congrats on the Award!

I came over from l'Aussie to meet you. I'm meeting a lot of YA authors this morning. It's my favorite genre next to memoir.

Have a day that's as lovely as your blog!!!

  19. Congrats on the award! I thought about changing my domain name a while back, but decided against it. It's still something I'm considering. You are right--doing it now is better than later.

  20. I can't see the trailer, but I just read Beastly a few months ago and LOVED it--so I can't wait for the movie!

  21. I read BEASTLY when it first came out and it's great. I also know the author - lucky me! The trailer looks fantastic and really brings it to life. Can't wait!

  22. Beastly looks awesome. Haven't read the book, but loving the new age take on the fairy tale. Hmm... beautiful people? I've always been a Brad fan since A River Runs Thru It. And I totally dig Angie. Of course, she's gorgeous in every way. I love that she does the femme fatale roles so well. I think I'd have to pick Keira Knightly as my choice for most beautiful women and Hayden Christensen just rocks my world, so i'd pick him as most beautiful man.

  23. THANKS FOR POSTING ABOUT US!! you are sweet and so very deserving of awards!!! personally, i'm team jen aniston...although, hmm..most beautiful woman? i always thought julia ormond was beautiful. baby names on my list right now are josie and lucas (luc). i do like the trendy names, too. the villain in my novel is just too, too bitter. she had decent family that tried to change her ways, but nope. she's just wicked and selfish. GREAT post! thanks always for the helpful sites and the funny cartoons! :0) christy

  25. Congrats! Haven't read Beastly but I'm on my way to go check it out (what would I do without bloggers who are 'in the know'?) lol. Thanks!

  26. First, that trailer kicks ass... I am so there in March!

Next, I'm sorry to tell you, but I'm totally Team Aniston. Angelina kind of gets on my nerves, though she is really beautiful. Right now, I have a major crush on Darren Criss from Glee, but Johnny Depp always has a place in my heart.

And the fictional character names... well, Isabella and Jacob were trendy before Twilight came out (though Edward probably picked up some steam because of it). I don't know. I'm no one to talk, my daughter is named Elizabeth after Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice and I'm seriously considering Henry (Northanger Abbey) or Elinor (Sense and Sensibility) for our next baby. Of course, those names are classic and lovely as are the stories those characters star in. Twilight isn't quite in the same league as Jane Austen :)
