Stranger Thor Fatty Weekend

This weekend was nice. Too fast, as usual, but nice! On my way home from work Thursday I stopped at Hardees to try it out (I haven't always been a huge fan, and haven't eaten it in years).

Thursday was also the first day in uniform for the office that I work in. Apparently, if you show up in scrubs you get free small fries and drinks! (Small being a normal persons medium, btw) Hazzah! It was pretty good for fast food too! (having half free didn't hurt either)

Saturday night was steak grilled out on the bbq and a fresh tomato. MMMMMMMMMMM MMMM. Also, had a super fun crit meeting with the gals. Love those gals. I haven't laughed that much in a while. Even if my villain turned into a fountain and a deflating inflatable arm flailing tube man at one point in the conversation ;)

Sunday mom and I couldn't decide which movie to see, Thor or the new Pirates. So we picked both! Thor was way better than I expected, but I really would have paid 6.50 just to see sexy Chris Hemsworth mud wrestle in the rain any day so it was a total, unexpected win. Also pretty randomly funny.

Pirates of the Caribbean was a surprise too. I expected very little and was given a lot! Johnny Depp rocked my world AGAIN. So, all in a all a movie going success!! (don't waste money on 3D for Pirates, though. We had to upgrade because of Thor letting out late and missed the opening to the non-3D one, and it was a waste of 6 bucks. Not cool enough to warrant the $)

Oh man...I hope I have dreams of Johnny Depp mud wrestling Chris Hemsworth in the rain...Prize for the winner? Muah! Prize for the loser? Oh that's right. Me again! Bring it dream land.

Lastly, I have been in a funk lately with my MS. I need to finish up some work on it, and have put off finishing my synopsis as long as my bratty attitude can. So this week I am knucklin' down and just doing that shiz. No excuses!

What's new with you guys? See anything/do anything fun this weekend?

  1. Sounds like a rocking weekend! I'm totally jealous that I didn't get to be one of the gals you hung out with. Maybe when we both become famous we can make that happen.

I tried out a new burger joint in our neck of the woods. The Love Shack, the burger had grilled cheese sandwiches for buns. Then there were the fries OMIGOSH they had cheese, bacon, and brisket on them. YES BRISKET. Needless to say it was AMAZING.

My hubby and I saw Bridesmaids and laughed our butts off.

To complete the weekend we went to the Roller Derby for the first time. Consider us newfound fans! They were incredible. Already have our calendars marked for next month!

  2. OMG, I miss Hardees. I lived on their Canadian Bacon breakfast sandwiches when I was in college. Now I can't even find a Hardees. We have Carl's Jr. out here, but it isn't the same and it's too far away.

My weekend? I started writing again. I only got a couple thousand words out - and yesterday's 500 is going into the trash today - but it felt good. =o)

  3. I liked Thor a lot too! But I'm afraid to say I very much dislike the Pirates franchise. And I'm not a Depp fan, either, so I won't be seeing that. I do want to see Bridesmaids, though! And of course The Hangover 2!

  4. Haven't been to Hardee's in years (20 mi away).
Didn't do any movies this weekend (held captive by yard work)

Want to see Pirate but still not sure about Thor.

  5. Thor with the Hammer? Haven't heard about the movie. It's probably coming here too fairly soon, or maybe it's just me who haven't read the movie pages in the news recently? I like the good old Norse gods, more spectacular and entertaining than the grumpy Christian God >:)

  6. I haven't seen either movie, but would like to! My weekend was just crazy busy, which ended up with me not feeling so great. Apparently when you're almost 9 months pregnant, running all day and night doesn't work out so well. ;) ha ha

  7. Um, I think Chris would kick Johnny's butt--unless Johnny's good with a sword in real life. =D
But I still love Cap'n Jack.

  8. Sounds like an awesome weekend. I have no idea what Hardees is. We don't have them in the northeast! I want to see Pirates of the Caribbean-- love that Johnny Depp. And your mud wrestling fantasy.

  9. Thor was awesome, just how awesome surprised me. I hadn't known what to expect and loved it! Hubby and I plan on seeing Pirates after we return from vaca next week.

  10. Sounds like a terrific weekend!! I kind of went the opposite way and cleaned out closets, donated a bunch of clothes and reorganized stuff. Not a lot of fun, but it feels good to finally get it done!

  11. I saw THOR and was pleasantly surprised. I was more impressed with Sif than Natalie. I'm going to see PIRATES today. I'm interested in how Johnny Depp will do DARK SHADOWS,Roland

  12. I saw Pirates this weekend, although I liked Thor better. Not for the mud wrestling though.

  13. Sounds like you were busy! I want to see Pirates and Thor, but haven't...yet. I just did some reading, some writing, and lots of sleeping!

  14. My friends and I used to hang out at a Hardee's WAY back when. It no longer exists in UT, nowadays, however. :(

Saw Pirates this weekend - good! A little darker, but good! Haven't seen Thor, but I need to.

Best of luck with your writing! You can totally knuckle down and do it! :)

  19. Yay for free fries! That's never a bad thing.

I initially didn't want to see Thor, but people seem to be liking it! I might just have to now. Not sure about seeing Pirates though... I might just rent that one.

Good luck on your synopsis! You'll slay it!

  20. I was pleasantly surprised by Thor too! I mean, I would've seen it anyway, just like you, because YUM Chris H...

  21. Looking forward to seeing Thor - heard a lot of good things. Glad you liked it!

I've actually never tried Hardee's (closest is PA and I'm in MA). I'm on a mission to try all the fast food places we don't have in New England, so I'll get there eventually. So far In 'n' Out is my favorite of all the chains.

  22. I MUST see Thor soon. I'll get right on that. Good luck with your MS!

  23. I'm glad to hear Thor turned out good. Pleasant dreams...

  24. I saw Pirates as well and LOVED it. I love me some Johnny. And I'll take the mudwrestling dreams to. he he he. I did pay for the 3D too. Wasn't impressed. Maybe a movie like HP 7 would be better in 3D with all the broom flying and whatnot.

  25. Doh!! I keep forgetting to wrangle someone into going to see THOR with me. I don't give a dang about the storyline, but that is some serious Man-Candy there!

I'm nervous about Pirates. I didn't care for the last one all that much, and whilst I love Johnny D . . . a Pirates movie without Orly just seems like a sacrilege. :o(

  26. Ah! I still haven't watched Pirates yet and chances are I'll avoid 3D--I like my images on the screen, not popping out at me. And free fries rock! ;)

  27. Ooh what a fab week. I want to see Pirates too. I find most 3D versions rather disappointing/gimmicky.
My week has been good and our youngest kittie was allowed outside yesterday after 2 weeks bed rest. He's thrilled!! :O)

  28. My wife and I saw both recently. Did you stay after the credits? Both movies had sequel teasers.

  29. ahh... I would SO trade weekends with you. Yours sounds fantastic. And is that true? Do you really get to meet your critters in person? *dream*

I'm so intrigued by Thor! Everyone says it's really good---!!!! But I haven't seen Pirates 1, so I'm a bit behind there. I agree w/you on the mud wrestling part, though! I'll take a loser if you need help... :D xoxo

  30. OH fun! THose are both movies I'd like to see!

  31. Wow, you've had an awesome time. Hope the dreams came out better than imagined. ^_^

I went to a birthday brunch today. Fave food: Almond Croissants. Yummmmm... :-)

  32. What fun to see two great movies. I haven't been to a movie in ages.

Don't freak too much about your ms. It will fall into place once you take a few deep breathes and clear your mind.

Oh, I have an article for the Thesral Gazette. A mock HP newspaper featured at Laurel's leaves.... I'd love it if you get the chance to check it out. Drop by my blog and you can link into it. IT's really funny.

    Have a great weekend Colene.

  33. I saw Pirate's too. It was good. Johnny Depp rocked it and I think Penelope Cruz did a great job! Really, I loved a lot of the character's. Black beard, the missionary, the mermaid, Barbosa? Okay, well the last one made me want to gag but he looked so gross. Sounds like you had a great weekend :)

  34. My husband and son get to go to all the cool movies while I'm in charge of our youngest (he can't stay quiet for more than 3 minutes at a time and is no longer welcome at the movie theater). They said the same thing about Pirates in 3D and they also enjoyed Thor (although I doubt because of the sexy star, haha). Hope this weekend goes well for you, too!

I'm still digging my way out of May. Hope to visit more this summer!!
